As a Structural Packaging intern at Fisher Price, I designed and prototyped packaging for the brands Thomas and Friends, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, and other Nickelodeon and Disney shows. I was responsible with communicating with Graphic Designers, Copy Writers, and Marketing Professionals in order to produce a successful design.
I presented these designs and research I conducted at team meetings to illustrate how my designs were the best option. In addition, I communicated with Fisher Price offices all around the world to discuss my designs, cost concerns, and manufacturing needs. My designs will be sold in the Fall 2015 line with other Fisher Price products.
What Challenged Me: Packaging Design was a whole new way of designing and thinking for me. It was incredibly difficult and fun to design dielines, see how they translated into 3D forms, and learn the engineering behind packaging.
